Safecleanse Alcohol Gel is a PA Dispersion - based oil-in-water dispersion in which the water phase contains 61% ethyl alcohol and 0.1% triclosan. It takes the form of a topical gel used to kill bacterial, yeasts, fungi and viruses on the skin, especially the hands. It is designed specifically for effectiveness and for frequent use without discomfort. An added bacteriostat (triclosan) prevents the unwanted re-growth of pathogens between applications of the product.

Its method of use is to apply a small amount (about 1 gram) into the palm of one hand and to spread the product over the surface of both hands, including between the fingers, by rubbing the hands together. The product dries within seconds to leave the hands free of viruses and bacteria but also feeling moisturized. No water or washing is required. The dose can be repeated as often and as frequently as needed.

Rational for Product Development

Bird Flu and MRSA and antibiotic-resistant organisms represent a major health threat. The threat is world-wide but is particularly intense in places, like Asia, where a large proportion of the population keeps livestock on a small scale – especially chickens and other birds.

Frequent hand washing with soap and water, even if it could be universally adopted, may not be sufficient to prevent the spreading and mutation of potentially dangerous organisms, especially viruses. In any event, the continual washing of hands is irksome, requires convenient on-site washing facilities (including clean water and soap) and will eventually result in dry chapped hands, since soap is too alkaline for frequent use. more >>>>
